With Love, Geraldine

All I need is a hug and I'll be happy. I like things simple. I love too easily and forgive too quickly; but that's what makes me happy. I think I'm too complicated for anyone to truly understand, but if you want to know one thing about my life, it's the Father upstairs that gets me through it all.

Connect the dots.

Remember that “puzzle” that we used to do as little kids? The one where you had to connect that dots in a certain order to create a picture? Well, imagine doing it as a little child. You connect the dots in straight lines to get to the end. But when you get to the end, it doesn’t look like anything. Your lines are too straight, the picture isn’t perfect, and you’re disappointed.

But then, you realize that it’s not always just connecting the dots anyway you want. As you’re going through the process, you have to think about the final product and understand that these lines that you’re creating are going to make something beautiful. By doing so, you begin to curve your lines as they should look. AND by the end, you get that beautiful picture you were looking for.

This imagery is similar to following God. Sometimes, we follow the Word of our God blindlessly. We do not care to think of why we are doing certain things - we simply do them because that’s what the Bible says. In the end, we get an unsatisfying happiness; we don’t understand the benefits and the harvest of our good works. However, if we begin to think about what we’re doing and think about why God wants us to do certain things, we’ll begin to realize how it is all shaped for His greater plan and His greater glory. We stop seeing God’s Word just as strict guidelines, and we start to apply His Word to our lives. In this way, we better see the happiness and the peace that He gives us.
